Q1 Can I use the DCU-11 or DRS-11 with Total Multi-Server?
A1 No, these and other older Original USB/Serial Cables are not supported by our software
 
Q2 Can i use the DSS-20/22/25 Syncstation and DCU-60 Cable with Total Multi-Server?
A2 Yes, the DSS-xx Syncstations are now supported for unlocking and flashing* using the default syncstation drivers. The DCU-60 is supported for some models and functions
   
Q3 Can i service my phone without a cable with a wireless connection?
A3 No, at this time it is not possible to service your phone through IRDA or Buetooth
   
Q4 What is the maximum speed i can use on my COM and USB Ports?
A4 It is possible to service at 115200 with a COM cable and 921000 with a USB cable
   
Q5 What are the RTS and DTR selection boxes for?
A5 RTS and DTR are settings for data flow both need to be ticked when using cables we sell, however if that doesn't try ticking one and not the other then swicth and finally with none.
   
Q6 What is the syncstation selection box for on the Total Multi-Server Client?
A6 Tick this box only if you are using a DSS-2x Syncstation

Unlocking
Q7 What benefit does unlocking my phone give me?
A7 By unlocking your phone you will be able to use a SIM card from any network wordwide
 
Q8 Why is my phone locked by my network provider?
A8 Your network provider has locked your phone becuase they have subsidiesed the cost of your phone and to make back this money they lock the phone so you can only use there service.
   
Q9 Is unlocking my phone legal to do?
A9 Yes, it is legal to unlock your phone once it is your property.
   
Q10 Will i lose all content on my phone such as wap setting, images, themes etc
A10 No, when unlocking no settings will be lost only the SIMlock will be removed.
   
Q11 How many credits does it cost,how long does unlocking take and is it safe?
A11 Unlocking costs 1credit, takes under 1 minate from start to finsh and is 100% safe to carry out as long as you follow our simple instructions in our manual, available in our download area.

Updating Firmware
Q12 Why would i want to update the firmware version on my phone?
A12 From time to time manufacturers release updates to the firmware on there phones to fix bug add small features and make the phone generally quicker.
 
Q13 I can not use the SonyEricsson Update Service(SEUS) can i use your service?
A13 Yes, you can and as an added bonus our server will also debrand your phones, see the section below.
   
Q14 How do i update the firmware on my phone?
A14 To update the firmware you need to flash both the Firmware and Defualt language files, Please Note: The version needs to be the same for both files
   
Q15 How many credits does this take?
A15 Updating firmware costs only 1 credit, flashing the frmware file is free and the default language file takes 1 credit
   
Q16 Will i lose all content on my phone such as wap setting, images, themes etc
A16 Yes, unfortunatly you will so we recommend you move all images to your memory card or back it up on your PC. The phone will revert to the SE default and have all default images and themes. Changing Language
Q17 To change the language in my phone do i need to update the firmware?
A17 No, you do not have to but it is advised as updating the firmware will fix any bugs
 
Q18 What file do i need to flash to the phone?
A18 You need to flash the default language file, if you are not updating make sure the version of the file matchs that in your phone.
   
Q19 How do i check the firmware version of my phone?
A19 In all SonyEricsson phone you need to type *>*<<*<* (< is moving the joystick left or jogdial up and > is moving your joystick right or jogdial down.)
   
Q20 How many credits does this take?
A20 Changing your langauge pack costs one credit.

A22 Yes, you will, but this is what de-branding is meant to do, so we recommend you move all images to your memory card or back it up on your PC. Q24 Will my phone be like a SIM-Free SE phone?
A24 Yes your phone will be exactly as if your phone was brought SIM Free and will have no network branding.
   
Q25 Why would i want to de-brand my phone?
A25 The networks usually brand there phones so they have network start-ups, settings, images and somethimes even blocked features for exampleone network removed the mp3 features fromSonyEricsson K700i, but our service brought this function back. It also frees up memory by getting rid of undeleteable images, audio files, video and other advertising..
 
Errors
Q26 What do i do when i get an error?
A26 As soon as you get an error the client saves 2 files in the same folder as the client software, 1 is a jpg image file(Screenshot of the client screen) and the other is an ATS file. Send the JPG file to support@totalserver.net and we will reply with help and another credit if applicable.
 
Q24 How do i know if a credit was discounte dby the error?
A24 When a credit is beng discounted the client software displays the discounting credit and the OK messages. If this message has not appeared then you have lost no credit and dont need to send you the screenshot.
   
Q25 I got an 00x2F14 error message what do this mean?
A25 This error is a low battery error please charge you phone your phone then try again, please note if it happened while flashing the firmware file is more than likely your phone had 'died' so you will need to charge the battery in another phone or desktop charger, don't worry the phone willcome back to life when you flash the file again.
